tennon tool for power hammer

Recommended Posts

So I need a tenon tool for the Kinyon. I'm going to be using the flat dies under the Kinyon and then use the wrap around collar that holds the tool on the flat dies. (I believe it is a Clay Spencer/tire hammer tool.)

Anyway, here is what I'm working with.

The metal is a plow piece. It isn't the plow point, it is the piece the plow point bolts onto. I'm planning on doing a guillotine tool and a tenon swage per tool. The metal is 5/8"x1 1/2" so I am planning on splitting in half so that each side is 3/4"x5/8". I know about the business card for spacing trick.

I'm probably going to do a 3/8" tenon tool first.

I am planning on using mild 1/4"x1" FB as the spring and a small piece of angle iron to fit the hammer die clamp.

Suggestions or revisions to my plan???
Thoughts???
Thanks!
