bigfootnampa Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 When I went to start a fire in my forge yesterday I discovered a twig foundation laid in the intake to my squirrel cage blower!! Luck was NOT with me as the nest builder seems to have been a believer in the "stouter is better" type of building. There were maybe 150 to 250 2" to 4" twigs stuffed into my fan intake!?!! I had considerable fun getting most of them out so that my blower could turn (a few will remain for who-knows-how-long as they are inaccessible now). I must remember to close it off from now on! I had just as soon NOT encounter "A SERIES of Unfortunate Events"! Quote
Marksnagel Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Glad you looked before you leapt. Better to spend a little time doing preventitive maintenance than damage control at an inopertune time. Was it a bird in the squirrel cage or a squirrel in the bird cage? Mark<>< Quote

fciron Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I pulled a couple of egg-sacs of some sort out of the airbox of my girlfriend's Honda motorcycle last week. Unfortunately, that did not fix it. My first summer in this shop some doves built a nest on the outside chain-hoist. It only gets used occasionally, but when I need it, I really need it. Sorry, guys. Quote
