ironclad Posted March 6, 2011 Share Posted March 6, 2011 hi to all on this awesome site, have only recently started blacksmithing and love every minute, i'm living in Ireland so i'm probably on when you guys are in bed and vise versa, i am in awe of your work, is there nothing you guys can't make!!! I started out on a weekend blacksmithing coarse, making a poker and candle stick, and was hooked. So I've built my own forge and made a few pieces, will try and post pictures on when i figure out how! so once again hi to all and love the site. Chris.B. 781 Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Welcome to the group Here in America just about every region has a blacksmith group or groups. Some have monthly meetings most have at least one big event where an outside demonstrator(s) are brought in to teach for the weekend. Much easier to learn from someone doing it than try to teach yourself Most of our blackmiths probably would be condisered hobby smiths. Doing it for fun and have a day job to support the habbit.
