John P. Lavelle
Howdy: Brian Brazeal came to Ohio and we were able to forge for a few days. Here is a picture of some tools we were able to make. The hammer was made from 1045 and the tooling from 4140. Sorry for the clarity of the picture, we made a lot of dust!

downsfish
I'm in Alabama which is only a stones throw away from him (somewhere in MS). I'm sure like everything else in life when i finally save up enough to buy some of his time he'll have moved. When I have the money I don't have the time. When I have the time I don't have the money. brianbrazealblacksmith
Hey, John. Lyle and I finished that fullering hammer we started at your place. Here's a picture of it: It weighs 4 pounds: I look forward to coming back to your shop! John has a very nice shop. By the way, those hardy tools are for John's 500 pound Peter Wright anvil with an inch and a half hardy hole.

Brian: Attached is a picture of the original bar of 4140 and the rough-forged 4lb hammer before it left my shop. Your hammer is next to it for comparison. Over the weekend we forged another hammer head from 1045 and a top fuller from 4140. Finally, I am attaching an image of some hardies we have recently forged.
