August 7, 201015 yr This is an old shear I bought in old East Germany a while ago, it is a lot bigger than a B-3 Beverly, must way about a 100 lb. In the picture you see a B-2 Beverly in comparison. The only tag attached says VEB (Volks Eigener Betrieb) 1958 from a wire fencing comp. Did Beverly ever make any shears bigger than a B-3?PC130101.JPG.zip
August 7, 201015 yr Well the pic is so big that when I click on it I can only see about a square inch in my full screen... Can tell much of anything.. But as far as I know Beverly never made anything larger than a B-3.... They did make a powered B-3 that was foot operated via a pedal but it was just a modified B-3
August 7, 201015 yr Guess everybody has 12 megapixel cameras nowadays! Doesn't IPBoard have a way to re-size them automatically like vBulletin does?
August 7, 201015 yr In Windows Internet Explorer you can go to the lower right corner of the screen and resize any photo/page ... maybe some of the other browsers have a similar feature
August 7, 201015 yr Work the same as <ctrl +> and <ctrl -> on most browsers. But tats a pain too, plus a slow load.
August 7, 201015 yr You can also right-click on the picture and select 'open in a new window'. It will resize to fit the new window.
August 7, 201015 yr Wow, that so closely resembles a Beverly shear. In the picture it looks like the size comparison between a B1 and a B3 on steroids. That thing must be a monster and probably capable of shearing 1/4" at least. I've got a B3 and it will cut 3/16". The muscle power needed to do it all day long is another matter. Great find and if you ever need to sell it there is money in the bank.

August 7, 201015 yr Heck I go into paint and resize to 50% to start then usually resize again 4 times at 80% to get to a managable size.
August 7, 201015 yr I guess that it is a communist knock off of the Beverly Shear. You done good on that purchase, how much did it cost to ship it home? <_<
August 7, 201015 yr Author I guess that it is a communist knock off of the Beverly Shear. You done good on that purchase, how much did it cost to ship it home? The shear came over in a container with a bunch of other equipment I bought, a friend of mine shipped it from Germany. The only hassle is dealing with the Toll authority, import, here in Colombia. A nice Heuer Front vise is still stuck, for about a year now, at the port in Buenaventura. some official may have liked it and I may have lost that one...lots of corruption one has to deal with all the time.
