brianbrazealblacksmith
If you make it back to the East Coast, I'm there! Brian will be at the Bill Gichner Hammer In, Easton Maryland demonstrating, Jan 7-9 and at the Gathering of the blacksmiths in Courtland, VA May 7 & 8, demonstrating for the Tidewater Blacksmiths. Bring your camera....Karen
Kenny O
Kenny O, You might want to start with mild steel first, instead of S7. This tong style only requires mild steel as long as you forge a strong structure. That wasn't my intent (the S-7), I just grabbed a section out of the scrap pile. A bolt tong would need to be of Higher C?
Carlewis
Having just found this bumped thread in 2012, the videos don't seem to exist as videos, just a one image shot. At least that is where my browser takes me. Are these videos still available to view somewhere? Please?
Jason @ MacTalis Ironworks
Search youtube for one heat tong and it should come up along with Brian's other vids.
Jeff Lodge
Having just found this bumped thread in 2012, the videos don't seem to exist as videos, just a one image shot. At least that is where my browser takes me. Are these videos still available to view somewhere? Please? If you are referring to the videos that are posted on Brian's google site you'll need to choose the option below the picture and download the AVI file. This worked great for me and now I can save the clay demo of the tong blank and watch it over multiple times so I can practice this myself.
