JPH
Here's a photo of a Seax that I finished a little while back. Double fullers, three core blade with high density shear steel edge. Full file worked spine. Three piece black bone grip set with german silver and bronze studs, mounted with german silver and bronze thrfee piece bolster and pommel plates. Thought I'd share with yas... JPH

HWooldridge
What defines a seax? How are the characteristics different from a skean dhu or something else? I assume it's British Isles or Northern Europe from the name.
Tyler Murch
HWoolridge, The word seax simply means knife. I think of it as a Viking Bowie. the spine is usually straight except for the last third of it or so. the edge is usually more or less straight. Seaxs (seaxi?) are larger blades. AKA sax, sramasax....
So-Steve
Wow! That's really good! About how long did that take you to do, blade and the whole thing. The handle is also really nice, I actually have never seen a studded handle before. Really unique, or I've got a lot to see >.
JPH
Steve: This one took me about 21 hours or so....would of taken a bit less but all that $#^%&*(ing file work on the spine took for-ev-er to do... As for the grip....there aren't too many folks doing bone grips out there, with or without the studs... for some reason...but methinks that is about to change once book4 hits...
