madcat
I recently received this forge and I am trying to find out some more information about it. the only identifying marks on it are Johnson Gas Forge Lincoln Neb. and Shamps Iron and Mfg. Does anyone know what the knobs on the side of the burners do? Thanks for any help

keithgartner
Those are clean-out plugs, because of the T- shape of the burner tahke plugs out and brush side to side. you wouldnt believe what get's in there.
ThomasPowers
A friend of mine had great help from Johnson when he called them about his old forge. They are an old firm and may not be e-mail focused.
karlmonney
Hey Madcat - looks like I got the same kind of forge that you picked up back in 2009. Were you able to find any information on it? I need help with the propane supply connection. By the way, I reached out to Johnson Gas (https://www.johnsongas.com/) and they did NOT manufacture this forge. They informed me that it was made by a company in Nebraska that is no longer in business.
