welder19
That guy has more anvils, cones, swage blocks etc. than any one person I'ev ever seen, he always has a few items at a time listed on ebay, and it is always very nice stuff but of coarse it always comes with a collectors price tag. I would like to know where he comes up with all this blacksmithing stuff of this quality. welder19
brian.pierson
I am guessing Europe
matt87
It's quite a common style over here. The dry tue/tuyere is apparently quite short-lived without due care when burning coke. Vaughn's sells new-production ones still.
Oak Hill Forge
I bet he has people that bring him stuff for a finders fee or something. I do a ton on estate auctions and rarely find the quality stuff he always has, but like others have said "It ain't cheap" I bought a Colonial pattern anvil at a sale Saturday, but it's rough. I bid on a nice 4 foot cone anvil a few weeks ago, but it sold for over $430. Seems like to me the stuff is going up in price recently. Dave Hammer
Actually, $430 for a 4' cone would be a great price today. I've seen them go for over $1000.
brian.pierson
it is up to 535 and the reserve hasn't been met yet so it will go higher. It looks like most of the stuff up for this set is from England. Whether it came direct or from an estate, is a guess I won't make.
