Sugarimp
Hi all, I'm a designer living in Mozambique who apprenticed in metalsmithing (for jewelry, but blacksmithing is so much fun and dirtier!) in the US. I'm looking for someone in South Africa (or maybe Moz) to whom I can send one of my clients to take some blacksmithing lessons. I would also like to take, at some point in the near future) an advanced learning vacation in some scenic place in SA. My blacksmithing skills are quite basic, and I would really like to learn more. Any ideas? Cheers! -Minati
Ratel10mm
Welcome to IFI. There are a few SA members on the board. I'd suggest posting in the South African Highveldt section. Maybe send some of the Saffas an e-mail?
Frosty
Welcome aboard Minati, glad to have you. Not much I can to do help with your questions being about as far away and still on the same planet as one can get. Frosty
Glenn
Posting in the South African Highveldt section has already been mentioned. You may want to review the IForgeIron Blueprints, the IForgeIron Archive, or the IForgeIron Gallery for ideas.
Jacques
Welcome here. The only local people I have found so far that do training is Conrad Hicks in the Cape ( Conrad Hicks - the artist ) for general smithing and two knifemakers, Heavin Forge in Belfast ( Home ) and Stuart Smith in Johannesburg ( Stuart Smith Forged Knives )
