April 7, 200917 yr Here is my propane cylinder forge all cranked up. I hope my picture comes through.
April 7, 200917 yr Author Here is a shot of my burner choke and slots. I bought Michael book and the new propane bottle about two years ago and after a visit to birdogforge owned by Bruce Godlesky, I got busy and built my burner and forge. I have a lot to learn yet. I think the next thing I need to do is some tongs.
April 8, 200917 yr HOT glowy forge! Always a good sight. Nice job Riley. Have you heated anything in it yet? Frosty
April 8, 200917 yr Author Thanks for the nice comments. Bruce has seen it first hand and we cranked it up and Bruce did a forge weld. I burned up a tank of propane messing with it, and forge welded a billet from some steel cable I got from Bruce Godlesky. Made some scrolls and a leaf. Heating hammering and learning.
April 8, 200917 yr Author Sounds like you have a really nice forge. Hope to see some of your work. Here are some pieces that were'nt total disasters. The leaf was made from a piece of 1/4x1/2 hot rolled.
April 8, 200917 yr Nice work and great job on the forge and burner... I built a couple of those burners myself. Nice job on the flair!
