  1. So after starting and stalling various knife shaped objects this is the fort iteration that I’ve broughtall the way to actual being useable. the steel is forged from a front loader cutting edge(benefits of being a concrete mixer driver to pay bills)the shape is inspired by the Viking seax. The bolster/ guard is a integral steel core with a Oregon blacktail antler outer. The handle scales are ash brass pinned and epoxied. The “ upswept fuller is an idea I tried and so far like the look of. Here’s she’s I’d I-1 first of hopefully many.
  2. Thanks for the warm welcome guys im hoping there is something close by during the week of Dec 20-22 that’s when my oldest boy will be here from Oregon for the holidays. I’m puting the “ final” touch on the rough in of my basic 12x20 shop, hope to move forge(gas) and anvil in this week and do a test run this weekend.
  3. Hello all, My names Brian most folks call me ogre. been a student of the blacksmithing art for a little over 2 years as life and bills allowed. my wife and I along with our (5) boys moved from Oregon last august/ sept. due to the craziness of life forging had to take a back burner. Finally things got slow enough to get smithy and forging back to top of to do list. im looking forward to connecting with local crew and learning from those who are farther on this journey. Thanks and god bless
