  1. Yes i agree on the overage fuel cost of the larger forge for sure. I really meant to say what i was thinking which was the larger iron i may need to work may not fit the smaller gas forge. Thomas Powers hit the rivet on the muscle! 2 gas forges would be my style based on large plow parts and such, small 1” - 2 1/2” stock for the smaller. I still have my small 2 burner horseshoe forge but i cant run long bar through it. No opening on the back. Shouldnt have bought it because of that, but oh well. jbm
  2. Heck i am thinking about just doing the big NG forge. Has to be easier than building the coal rig plus it may be cheaper in the long run?
  3. These came home from Germany with him. He let me borrow them.....almost with some greenstamps included. jbm
  4. The indention right beside the hardy hole on the one on the left is the aftermath of a bombing at the factory that indented the face by a piece of hot magnesium from the bomb. Anyone out there know where these anvils originated from? jbm antelope hills okl They are in use. The pic i have of them was before they were set up. Had to take out a wall in shed to get them mounted. They are from a German Foundary that built them during the war. jbm antelope hills ok They are in my profile picture. 6. What a Great Build!! I have alot more lumber laying around than plate steel(expensive). Did i miss the dimensions on your build? I didnt notice them in this post? I would appreciate the dimensions and also didnt understand the cat litter and where it was to be added other than the dirt and brick? I like this idea better than the 55 gallon drum forge. Also wondered if there was still a place or need for my truck brake drum or does the dirt or mud shaped like a firepot take care of that? Sorry about all the questions, i like your build. respectfully: Joe Bill Moad Antelope Hills Oklahoma Scratch my last post. Sorry. I just found the questions i asked just now. Jbm
