  1. Thanks! Yea they are pretty fun and honestly not too hard. I used square stock and a guillotine to isolate all the parts
  2. Bottle opener is finished Wrought iron is very nice looking
  3. I over calculated stock size so it’s huge but here’s today’s work. It will go in the acid tomorrow. Wrought iron
  4. Hahah maybe it’s a good thing it’s not so nice then. You will never loose it !
  5. Well here’s the finished chisel. Need to sharpen it better. But it’s already fairly sharp
  6. I appreciate it all. I’m not trying to come off rude or anything so apologizes if I am. I think one of my biggest issues is with my Rush I didn’t clean the spine. I wanted a savage grind to begin so I flattened it with the rounding sides before beveling. I Don’t think I remembered the to use the flat face to smooth it out after. later today I will give it a go and see if I can do it better. As a side note I made a wood chisel from wrought iron and 52100 steel. Etching it now and you can see the transition on the edge
  7. I spent like an hour or total on that knife. I have time to forge today so I’ll forge one as best I can and we shall see how it looks. I only spent that long because it’s all the time I had available to forge
  8. Wouldn’t sting too much to mess a blade up. They don’t take too long
  9. Ahhh my mistake. Thank you frosty. I bet if I took my time I could do it much better. I’ll have to give it a try one of these days when I have more time.
  10. Thanks frosty. The main reason I didn’t spend more time cleaning it up is it’s gonna sit out side. Rust. Probably get lost in a few days and generally get abused. Just need it to open coal Bags and stuff like that. I also didn’t have a lot of time to forge tonight with other stuff so I didn’t have time to make it perfect. Eventually I’ll re do it better once I lose this one.
  11. I Needed a shop knife so here’s a quick and dirty shop knife. Forged from coil spring.
  12. Somewhat of a hofi style cross peen 2.6 lbs. Hickory handle 4140 hammer head
  13. Haha I suppose it does not that you mention it ! A ghostly latch could look sweet ...
  14. 2.5 lbs cross peen. Swedish pattern 4140 on a hickory handle
  15. I just grabbed the first hammer I found. And this is my most Portable anvil haha that’s awesome! I saw a fully functional Massey model. Salesman sample I think. Super cool.
  16. I bought a canopy for shade! And rain protection. I also made a mini blacksmith setup with the anvil I forged haha
  17. Yea I love exploring the woods and tree lines of old farms. So much goodies to be had. So far I’ve only done our family’s farms. I’m trying to locate a scrap yard that will let me walk around and find stuff to buy. Not many around
  18. Thanks! I mainly figured I’ve spent time forging it to the proper size why let it go to waste
  19. Ha. Some confusion is always fun but I figured a heads up wouldn’t hurt. a new nickname is in order I suppose! I be only been called Topper once or twice! also I made a flint striker from a file and I accidentally burnt the handle off so I just forge welded a new one on. Looks a bit odd but is very comfortable to use.
  20. To anyone who cares i have changed my name to my real name as I prefer going by it than the old display name. figured Id say that to prevent any possible confusion.
  21. I did a lot of searching and came up empty handed too. A lot of modern companies with the same name/ initials is the issue I think. its in perfect condition considering it has sat in the woods since around 1905 just rotting away Yea you are probably correct. It is likely just the name of a foundry or hardware supplier
  22. Definitely. Nothing here is super extraordinary so I am not really too worried about saving it. I’m definitely hanging up the M. W. Co. plaque
  23. Nearly impossible to ID I’m sure but on the off chance anyone recognize this company? Can’t find any info. From the wagon I got iron from
