In a light duty application it should run for a while as long as you can get enough tension on the belt. The angled sides of the belt is actually what grips the pulley and A and 3VX have different angles and widths. You really need to change both pulleys to A-series. What diameter are you looking for?

Those types roads used not bother me. Guess I got older. I don't like driving across tall bridges now.

The race is 52100 steel. Like Chris said, there could be other additives. I will forge some small pieces to test in heat treating.

I stand corrected. I should have been more specific. When I think large bore bearings, I am thinking large spherical roller bearings like the ones on a paper machine and the one I posted. According to the manufacturer, they are 52100.

There is no cut off size.

I've never tried the cornishx but any dual purpose bird works good for eating. Best fried chicken I ever had.

That's a lot of rabbits if you are breeding them. I have 6 does. My buck died last week. I'm looking for a buck now.

I had mine in cages off the ground until about 4 weeks ago. When I had my surgery I decided to get rid of my quail so I made a rabbit colony in my quail pen. It's 10x30 so plenty of room.

I been wanting to see how they fair on the ground.

2x4 is a good size for chickens.

Coons and possums make good table fair.

You should be getting 50K lbs. force easily at that pressure.

You can certainly reverse the hoses. The valve doesn't care which end of the cylinder the hoses go to.

What pressure are you running at and what is the bore of your cylinder?

Wish I had known all this when I built my forge. I'm not satisfied with the way it heats. As soon as I get back on my feet I'll be working on a side blast.

It's just gravity feed right? The thicker oil will probably slow it down some. As long as it's not going through a pump you should be fine.

Makes sense. Why waste that much carbon steel if you're going to put carbide teeth on it.

6 weeks old and you don't need to tenderize.

I been watching from the sideline for some time now. I stay pretty busy so could never find time to join up. My doctor made sure I had plenty of time when he removed a large tumor from my bladder Wednesday. So while I'm laid up, y'all stuck with me.  

I was just starting to get into hot metal when I started getting sick. I have my grandfather's anvil from the early 1800's. It's in pretty bad shape but still useable. I have an improvised anvil I made and a charcoal furnace I also made. The furnace will be either modified or replaced. It's just not as good as I thought. Maybe in a couple of weeks I will feel like swinging my hammer. Lord knows, I need the practice.

So, now that y'all know I'm sick, you have to take it easy on me. Right?  

Oh, I did read the sticky. Then read it again, and will probably read it several more times along with a lot of other useful information in this forum. Heck, y'all may never hear from me again if I read everything in IFI. That's a lot of reading.
