well i dont know how to forge weld
-
yes i understand but im not talking about doing it as a continues hobby i just wanna get a small crucible like the size of a cofee mug so i can dip the cable into the molten cable to bind them together because im not good at forge welding.well my forge is out dores and its made in such a way that if any molten metal flys out it will just hit the sides of the forge and it wont come close to me.

Hi its DM i was wondering if its posible to make a crucible from stuff avalible in a normal hardwarestore?thanx.i wanna make or get a crucble to experiment and to melt cable in it while having a piece in the forge and then taking it out a diping it into the melted cable making it all one piece instead of lots of little wires.

thanx guys, i was wondering if it would be a good idea to weld it to the top of my rail road anvil so it has a harder surface?
-
The other day i got given a pice of something called biziloid and id like to know if it would be good for making knives if not what can i use it for?
-
just weld some big steel balls on the rail, im a skater and trust me theres nothing worse than round balls getting in the way.
-
ok well ive made the blower housing and it fits perfectly and now i must just some how bolt it to the motor frame which is sheet metal of the sort
-
the blades are about 20cm apart
-
well its just a motor with a fan atatched to it
-
Does anyone have any easy and cheap ways to build a housing around a fan, almost like on a hand blower exept it will be run by a motor instead, all i need is a housing and a ways to make it and attatch it to the fan.
thanx DM -
k thanx i will finish making my first blower and then ill another one like that
-
i actially checked out a vid on youtube about those bellows
-
i put mustard on my sword last night and it looks ok but will it stay like that?
-
i have just make a knife and i wanna make patterns on it but its not damascus so what house hold accids can i use to draw patterns on it?
thanx DM -
its fine, ill just use the tumble dryer motor and fan, and ill finish building the housing for it, im still new to making stuff from metal so ill just try do it myself and ill gain experience if i stuff it up or if it works out perfect, i will post pictures once my forge is fully up and running with the blower. It should take about a month or so to fully build my forge.and then im gana build a press to do prescision work and a power hammer for the big heavy stuff such as making swords and knives and once they are small enough ill use my soon to be press.
-
thanx but im trying to one from almost nothing and as cheap as i can because i dont have alot of money so i wanna make one
-
will this mini press be suitable for making knives and trying to forge welding damascus?if not please tell me what it can do?
thanx mike
will it??? -
i wanna know how to build that BP0580 press,i can get all the parts very easily so all i need is a blueprint or instructions how to build it
-
thanx but it is very pricey
-
Where did i find what?
-
well the fan and motor i got from the dryer is in good condition almost brand new and at my blacksmithing course im building a housing around it to suck in and shoot out air, exactly like a hand crank blower but it will just run from a motor
