Thank you, I thought it was one of the two. But I just wanted a second opinion. And yes it has good rebound.
-
Oh I don't have the autographed version just the regular one, sorry.
-
I second that. that's the book that got me hooked on bladesmithing/blacksmithing. Very good book

The more I look at it the more in confuses me. Its really cool.

You might wanna round off the end of the feet so they don't scratch furniture.

Hi I've had this anvil for about 4 months, and I would like to know a little bit more about it. The Face is 4 1/2 inches wide, the horn is about 8 inches long, and its about 10 inches high. It Has three handling holes, two in the sides and one in the bottom. No grinding has been done and none shall be done! I also got a good deal on it less than 3 dollars a pound. It also has a very hard face.

Of course, I respect my angle grinder very useful but very dangerous sometimes.
-
Making sure the angle grinder is at a complete stop before resting it on a table. They tend to jump off if you do that.

Oh sorry I think you misunderstood. I meant that I have been forging, and I have a lot of things that I want to make. Trust me I have been forging, anytime I can, I do.
-
Yeah, I really don't think of it as waiting. I have a gigantic list of thing I want to make/forge, that will probably keep me busy for a long time.
-
Nice, looks better than my first 2 forges.

Yes I have and I plan on taking a class sometime, but I called them and you have to be 16.

What about the lack of bearing/bushing? Can I just use a R6 bearing from McMaster-Carr, its 7/8 od and 3/8 shaft diameter, but its only 7/32 wide.

No, But I sure will keep at it. This is an awesome hobby

Hello, So I just got a champion midway spiral gear blower for free, but is has one two problems. The first one is that its missing a bearing/bushing. this size of the shaft that needs a bushing is 3/8 and this size of where it needs to be the overall diameter is 7/8 and an inch deep. So I was thinking can I just use a 3/8 bearing?
The second problem is that the impeller shaft seems to be a little loose, but when it has the impeller screwed on it doesn't, do I need to worry about this?

Already have it and read it lol.

Hello fellow blacksmiths, I am a 14 year old blacksmith from Maine. I have been blacksmithing/bladesmithing for around 5-6 months. I started by reading Wayne Goddard’s 50 dollar knife shop, so I started collecting equipment and gradually got interested in blacksmithing from reading I forge iron. Today I decided to make an account (YAY!), I am also a member of the New England Blacksmiths. I have attended one workshop and one hamme-in so far, and LOVE! It, I also plan on attending this years spring meet. I have a coal forge and 150 pound anvil (not ASO) and are currently working on making tools along with Alec Steele’s evolution of tool making. I will post my tools, forge, anvil, and stuff in there respected section in the days to come.
