  1. IMG_4349.thumb.JPG.0bb7320622593cace1a0572481d910b1.JPGHi I've had this anvil for about 4 months, and I would like to know a little bit more about it. The Face is 4 1/2 inches wide, the horn is about 8 inches long, and its about 10 inches high. It Has three handling holes, two in the sides and one in the bottom. No grinding has been done and none shall be done! I also got a good deal on it less than 3 dollars a pound. It also has a very hard face.

  2.  Oh sorry I think you misunderstood. I meant that I have been forging, and I have a lot of things that I want to make. Trust me I have been forging, anytime I can,  I do. :)

  3. Update: I was outside fiddleling with it and I got the impeller shaft out and its in good condition. The reason it was moving around was the nut the holds the cone on was actually of, and the balls where not where the were supposed to be. but now I don't know how to put it back together.

  4. Hello, So I just got a champion midway spiral gear blower for free, but is has one two problems. The first one is that its missing a bearing/bushing. this size of the shaft that needs a bushing is 3/8 and this size of where it needs to be the overall diameter is 7/8 and an inch deep. So I was thinking can I just use a 3/8 bearing?

The second problem is that the impeller shaft seems to be a little loose, but when it has the impeller screwed on it doesn't, do I need to worry about this?

  5. Hello fellow blacksmiths, I am a 14 year old blacksmith from Maine. I have been blacksmithing/bladesmithing for around 5-6 months. I started by reading Wayne Goddard’s 50 dollar knife shop, so I started collecting equipment and gradually got interested in blacksmithing from reading I forge iron. Today I decided to make an account (YAY!), I am also a member of the New England Blacksmiths. I have attended one workshop and one hamme-in so far, and LOVE! It, I also plan on attending this years spring meet. I have a coal forge and 150 pound anvil (not ASO) and are currently working on making tools along with Alec Steele’s evolution of tool making. I will post my tools, forge, anvil, and stuff in there respected section in the days to come.
