I bid on an anvil on ebay, won the item and when I met the seller to pick up the anvil lo and behold he showed up with 4 of them. We went back and forth over price. In the end he made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
A work in progress: A gate for the enterance to our deck. Double swinging door 8 ft wide. Dragon head post finials. I will post another pic when it's compleate. Finish will be rust.
I was just fooling around by the forge one day and came up with what I thought was a dragon.....I was corrected by another smith and was informed that what I had forged was actually a "Fire Drake". I don't care what one calles it ....I still think it's cool.
Had a customer ask me to make a one of a kind plant stand to hold 5 potted plants. I had some 8 in. ceramic floor tiles lying about so I put them to use.
After one week in the damp box a paste of baking soda and water was brushed on to neutralize the bleach. It was then rinsed and hung to dry. Multiple coats of polyurethane were applied and now it is ready to go to the customer.
This gate was made as a sample for the craft show season. It now has a place in our yard where my wife likes it. The roses bloom all year ...even in the snow.
