A Student once asked
I wonder how many of the fine folks here at IFI are doing blacksmithing for a livelihood vs doing it for self-satisfaction (and if there are some sales, that is just gravy)? I'm brand new at this. My lifelong passion has been photography. I still do a lot of it the old fashioned way, in the wet, instead of the much easier modern digital way. I do it for self-satisfaction. my website: frankfoto.jimdo.com

Thanks. From my limited reading, it certainly sounds like Anvils in America is THE book to get. Any other must have books?

I've read that some Trentons were imported from Germany?, and some made in Columbus Ohio. Is this so? How can one tell? Here's a pic of the underside.

A bit about me: I'm newly retired, living north of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. No blacksmithing/forging knowledge, skills, or experience. But I have an interest in learning, and now I have an anvil.
