I like Docs advice about a personal site. I feel like that is the best way to go for a hobbyist to make a few bucks. One person I know that has a personal site has integrated it with the payPal, "buy it now" buttons. He sells knives, and every once in a while gets an email saying a knife sold. All he had to do was list it! Not bad. Google has a competing service with pay pal, google checkout. I've played around with it. What I like about it is you can keep your inventory in a google spread sheet, and the store front is automatically generated by google. All you have to do is have the site up, and update your inventory spread sheet. I think it is a good option worth exploring. Currently I'm planning on going that route in the future. Right now I've got other irons in the fire that need attention though... Good topic :)

It is used for cleaning up the shoulders of tenons. Basically it has a hole the size of the tenon, you slip it over the tenon and whack it flush against the shoulder.

Cool cheese cutter. Sounds like it would make a good gift! I'm making a dozen plus plant hangers for the in laws..

Latest that Deb posted on FB: It took some screaming and yelling and demanding, and I even pulled the "disabled spouse" card ... but in the end, I don't think the insurance company OR the hospital wanted to mess with all of you guys. Way to go, team. Between us, we made them back down and give me the 3 extra days I need to get things done. THANK YOU! A few folks started calling on her behalf. Looks like she got a little breathing room.

If by skip, you mean boat, then was it used as an anchor?

I spent a year under a pop up carport, and will be back in one soon. What I did was position my anvil and vice near the end of the carport, and had wheels on my forge. So I would roll it out and forge in the open, then roll it back in when I was done. Didn't work in the rain I guess, but as long as it wasn't snowy or rainy it worked fine.

I'm putting together a batch of plant hanger hooks for the various in-laws.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Good to hear I know I keep seeing more and more work coming out of Portland that I never knew about. I grew up in McMinnville, this is the first I heard about a forge running up there! That would be great! I've been to an NWBA conference, it was great. I had the pleasure of watching Brian Brazeal and his brother demo there. I didn't get to make it over to Sisters, but a number of my close smithin buddies went. Sounded like a real good time I'll let you know as things move forward. Still in the research and information gathering phase of all this.

Howdy guys, I was kinda curious to get some input from a lot of different smiths.. How much fuel are you burning? What kinds of fuel are you using? Are you able to pick up a year's supply at a time? How much do you normally get when purchasing? Is it hard to find a good source near you? I'm mostly curious about solid fuels, coal, coke, etc.. But I could be curious about how that compares to gas. Thanks!
