  1. "Thinking Inside the Box" . It is a mild steel forged and stick welded sculpture of a fetus in a womb looking out at the world through the front opening. It took about 8 months to complete roughly two hours every night and 5-6 hours Sat afternoons..... It is not real blacksmithing but I did use a torch and my anvil.... It is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 75 pounds.... Baby is a good 20 lbs by itself....
  2. I call this piece "Twisted Attraction " It was forged from 1/2" square bar twisted and stick welded. Stands about 18".....I used hollow bar I don't know if that is cheating....Next time I will use solid stock.......Please don't hate me......lol
  3. I made this piece last year from 1/8 flat stock. It was forged from one piece and welded to the stand. I used a small grinder to polish it .made the slices with a cutoff tool and then bent each piece for the effect shown. After all of that I clear coated the entire piece. It stands about 12 " tall. Was kinda apprehensive weather or not to make the slices but in the end I am very happy I did. You never know if you are going too far sometimes....It can ruin the piece.....Sometimes you just got to say @#$ it and go for it......
  4. Thank You Woodeye....I don't have any training at sculpting or blacksmithing that's prob why my stuff is different than everyone else. I never copy anyone or follow the rules...I am always thinking of ideas or looking at things from a prospective that nobody else has done. It is very difficult...You have to dig deep to get it out of you.... When I am stuck I put on some meditating music and zone out or take a drive and let my mind wander......Hope that helps....
  5. It took about five months of looking on line, going to auctions, antique stores without any luck until yesterday....I found my anvil....I felt like a kid getting his first bike.....OMG I was smilin ear to ear when the deal was done... I prob paid more than I should have but I am very happy I got it. 150 Columbian..... Was on the second floor of course ..LOL. Getting a tree stump Monday and gonna clean her up.... Life is good my friends....
  6. Wish I could do this full time.......
  7. Thank you for those nice words Frosty. Here are some of my other sculptures....
  8. I started to make these sculptures last year with a torch and stick welding in my auto repair shop. 1/8 - 1/4 flat steel. I want to get into blacksmithing and casting down the road. Any suggestions on equipment would be appr. I have no experience with any art.welding or blacksmithing.Learing as I go.... The first one is a rat I made for an exterminator all steel 1/8 The second I call " lost identity " forged, welded and ground and the last is the Gates of Heaven (Twin Towers )
