  1. some of the machines they had there harborfreight sold years ago the picket twister ,scroll twister, and ring roller probaly not as good quality but did the job i had to do years ago not it gives me ideas of adapting the twister with some thing like those basket dies

  2. frosty

the screw is in peferct shape when i pulled it out of the pile it turned and opened closed with out a problem it does have a slite bow in the leg but not bad easy fix . the pile were it was looked as if some on cleaned out a barn on a farm .there was a lot of old tractor parts there with it i'm sure ther was other stuff but the pile is 20 feet high and i didn't see anymore tools laying there but i'm thinking to go back monday to look a little more

  3. found this small post vice at the scrapyard today when i was dropping off some junk basicly the guy there threw it in the back of my truck and said go weight out so i got the post vice and still got 40 bucks for the scrapmetal missing the spring and the mount but at that price i'll take a few more

  4. heres a trick for a good motor on the cheap i'm bulid my grinder with one and when done i will post picks go find a free tread mill with a dc motor take motor and controler and wiring most of the motors are at least 2 hp and are varible speed i have one on my 10inch logan lathe my buddy has on on a micron lathe that is used in a low production shop and has had no big problems runing the motor
if anyone here wants to try this check craigs list there are lots of treadmills for free out there or put an ad there

  5. bonehead11 this guy didn't solve the the gap he used heaver gauge track the newer track out there is heaver i just lookat a side job were the guy workes for a RR contractor in north jersey and he had a pieace of new track there about 3 feet and the web had to be 8-10 inches high and 2-3 inches wide nice stuff still trying to get it out of him he said his company just sold 6-7 tons of cut offs about 3 feet for 600 bucks all new stuff that when they welded the joints with thermite it didn't pass the x-ray test .wish i had known i would have bought it and be selling them cheap

  6. the die grinder uses a round bit so yes it would have a rounder corner depending on how small a bit you use is how rounded it would be and remember that the more metal you remove the weaker the heal will be maybe not enough to mater though it must have something to do with sweden anvils i have a farriers anvil that was made there that my pop bought from centaur forge back in the early 70's and that to has a 7/8 hole or kinda anyway and its hard to not sure of how hard but he used it for years shoeing and then i have used and there isn't a mark on it

  7. have you tryed putting a magnet to see if it sticks to it to tell if it steel
what are you using to melt them? if your furnace is geting hot enough them thin cases should melt like butter i'm not sure what your makeing but if you get them melted i would do it twice like melt skim it pour in to bilit mold and them do another melt for the the casting pour so you get another skiming done as the emety cases have a lot inpuritys in side them

  8. well most cartrige cases are brass but i have seen a lot the big cartriges from the A10 warthog plane that are steel (i live a few miles from there range and seen them out side there range on the ground )as melting brass it melts around 2300 f and if your doing this make sure you are were protective clothing i have seen this DO MAJOR damage to some ones body i have never melted cartriges but have melted hundreds of pounds of brass with my buddy makeing turn of the century motorcycles parts so every thing we have melted is thick brass witch is harder to melt i'm not sure of you furnace setup we use a reverbatory furnace with a stock becket oilburner with a gallon an hour tip it melts a pot of brass in about 45 min

  9. i see some good stuff there but my question would be whats on the bottom of the boxes
i had a guy on craigs list claim he had a box of blacksmith tools (the pics were not to good )he wanted 150 for when i got there it was mostly masons chisels and star drills and scrap metal so i drove 60 miles for nothing
