  1. We could use a little extra KNEE-MAIL to the right place.---My son has found out he has cysts on both of his testicles. The cysts will have to be removed and sent off for testing. If you all could give us a good word we will be thank-full Chuck and Helen Bennett.
  2. RICH: Very nice!! You have done a good neat job, good contrast and blade geometry. Great finsh work on handles and blades. Do I detect some influence from-- THE TREE,grin. Chuck
  3. DAN -- If you wanted to drill all the way through. You could thread the inside of the pipe and make decorative plug , with file work and ring in the end of it. I have seen these in tomahawks, they looked real nice. Sandpile
  4. JR> How eloquent..
  5. JR. They are neat and work right. I could see on the Bigger Red one. It looks like you might have sandwiched a thin piece with the holes in it, between the flat pieces, but then on the yellow ones that may not be the case. You have a nice arch to your spray. You have something down in the flats or flanges or what ever you call them. What size holes are there between the flats?? You do have arching, right?? Our dept. could use some of these. You went from steel to brass couplings?? Threaded or brazed?? Thanks for the pics. and ideas. Chuck
  6. TANNER( nine year old) and I stopped at the shop on the way back to the house, from doing the chores. We got to fooling with a horse shoe. In thirty five minutes, we made a hoof-pick and a small knife. Used one shoe and had a lot of fun together. He had to have a little help with the pulling of the point out on the blade and the grinding of the blade. It still needs to be sharpened. We have not had much time together for a while and it was real pleasing to have him want to do something. Chuck
  7. JOE called today and is quite a bit better. He did not cough once during the 15 minutes or so, that we talked. He is still a little weak, but building his strength up gradually. Thanks for the interest. Chuck Bennett copied to PL
  8. ROBERT N.> If you have a pipe stand or something similiar, put it under one end and the leg-vise on the other . That will give you a lot of room to work in the middle. I use an old barstool to sit on. I am comfortable with the piece under my arm, some folks want to stand and stoop over the piece, just breaks my back.. I really like the stool deal, when I start glassing for the final pass. Sandpile
  9. ALAN B. -- Thanks for looking. I picked this 52100 up from a man that was buying the drops. I hope it is E but will have no way of knowing. I will just treat as ED FOWLER says on the E52100. It is small rounds 5/8" X 4'. Iwill cut it off in 8" or 9". I plan on upsetting it quite a bit. Then will work it down for small blades. I am looking forward to this experiment. I will work it as cool as I can get it to work. Chuck
  10. Q.C. You want to be careful, on the ADVILS and TYLENOLS. Several years ago, when I first hurt my neck. I took aobut the same as what you are taking and I almost blew my kidneys out. When I noticed the first pain in my right side. I went to the doc, he pulled me off of them and prescribed another. I came close to losing my kidneys. When I was having the most trouble(not muscle) with my elbow, I raised my anvil and stepped up as close as I could comfortably work. Went back to a lighter hammer and made sure I did not stop the hammer any more than I had to. Quit squeezing the handle.Grin It is better but will always cause some problems. Too much abuse when I was younger. Sandpile
  11. JOE CORDOVA of BOSQUE FARMS NM. has been sick and in the hospital. He has had pneumonia. He was released last FRIDAY and I talked to him on SAT. He was still weak and coughing. I called him back today to see how he was doing. He was in bed and still coughing and weak. He was the Chairman for the AMERICAN BLADESMITH SOCIETY for a couple of years. We might ought to send some knee-mail to the place where it will do the most good. Thanks Chuck Bennett copied to PL
