royce was kind enough to let me use his welder and metal and i built one too

i finally finished this dumb thing and i really dont like how it turned out but here it is

i am no expert in anvils but that looks a lot like a vulcan to me(cast iron body steel face) these are a medium quality anvil but dont expect it to ring as its body is cast iron,i would hesitate to pay 500$ for it unless i am mistaken and it is a fisher

those tongs are truly tiny i dont envy your job of riveting them tho!!!! sure thing kyler i will have a pair of round stock tongs for u next time we forge ;)

what makes u think the screw and box are nonoriginal?the screw box is an oval shape that fits into a similar oval shape in the vise body so it wont turn.the jaws close parallel but have a section ground out,i will bring it to ur place and let you look it over

so you annealed but didnt harden it?

they look  good although i would curve the jaws to accept round stock and draw out the reins but they r still a nice set

i use a rivet forge and i would not want that brake drum in there.Just give it a good lining of your choice(i use plain old clay)and start heating and beating :D

just to clarify only tong #3 are tiny the rest are around 1.5 ft long

yeah i thought of the pliiers thing too i think they would make a kind of cool item to sell at craft fairs

wow i didnt know tiny tongs had so many uses!!!Any way here are pics of my first 5 sets of tongs

the reason i  use rebar is because it is what i have not because its what i want to use

i am about to finish my 5th pair and when i do i will post the first 5 here

decided to post these cuz i think they are purty cool :D also for a beginner making tongs it is a great way to practice technique because one can make a lot of tong blanks in 15min.Anyway here ere some pics
