im having trouble trying to find refractory for my gasser.. or any kind of how to/what to use for that matter. i know alot of people say use kaowool and itc100, but that stuff is xxxxxxxx expensive.. anyone know what would be good on a small budget?

guys i'm looking at buying an anvil that has a cast iron base and horn and a steel face. its 100lbs. for 100$. wondering if i should buy it or not. i currently have on anvil that was made from railroad track, but it doesnt have pritchell hole or hardy.

new guy here from southwest oklahoma.. always wanted to get into smithing just never had the resources.. got a couple hammers a railroad anvil and building a forge at the moment...
