  1. epic, cheers guys. this has joined my list of winter projects :)
  2. don't ever try this yourself ... so obviously I need to try this myself. its not exactly an induction heater, but its appears pretty simple and potentially very useful. What he doesn't explain though, is how to reduce the voltage and raise the amps on the microwave transformer http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=91f_1353824762 could anyone shed a little light on this electrickery? ta, n
  3. I bought one of these from that lithuanian chap a few months back http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2-Bnr-LP-gas-Forge-Knifemaking-Welding-Blacksmith-/110980958343?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d6fb0887 nice, but very simple little forge, does what it says on the box and I've used it with no problems or issues (apart from having to replace the useless russian regulator!)
  4. don't know what its proper name is, but we always called them the blacksmith's helper I made one similar to this for setting shoulders etc, but what about one of these with the tools going lengthways for fullering instead of across? 3rd hand sorted
  5. carrying any blade over 3" in length in public is illegal in the UK. there are exceptions, such as if you need a knife in a professional capacity, such as a chef, for example. but you are correct, having a sword are any blade on private land for a private collection is fine. its only an issue when you step outside your front door.
