If i see phil at the next meeting in augest i plane on trying to picking his brain a little any way.

I am scrounging up the parts to build an air hammer and got a question about the through of the ram. when i build it how high should i set the ram in relationship to the dies meeting? and what is a good distance from top to bottom die when fully open? I am shure I will come up with more questions once i start building. I have got a good bit to start with now and want to at least start framing it up.

rubbing alcohol is best i use it when cleaning and servicing printers. I would soak it for a little while then flush it with more clean alcohol. It will loosen up the ink without damaging any of the parts of the pin. be prepared for it to be messey ware some gloves the ink has a habit of geting every ware.

i posted a pic of my anvil/tool/vice stand i made for doing demos. I made it when i was doing the anderson fair it was a 10 day thing so i took allot of tools with me. its a little heavey but not hard to move i made the handels removable and from an old tiller. just run it up on the traler and away i go. planing on building something simmler for a forge i just like puting things on wheels i guess.

I have used a couple of electric blowers that i have riged up but use a hand crank now and perfer it. dont have to have wire any thing up and i have better control than with the electrics. iv got a champ 25 a mohawk (think 40) and a champion 400 i use the 25 all the time and the other 2 are spair.

I live in upstate South Carolina. Been playing with fire for about 6 or 7 years been trying to get searious about it for last 3 years. Been Maried for 10 years got 3 kids. Hopfuly my shop will grow into more than a hobby and i will be able to do this full time.

just got a 4ft peice of saw mill blade givin to me. hoping to use my nabors plasma cutter to chop it up. im planing on doing a little dimaskus with it but befor working it hot should i have to annul it first having not dealt with this stuff befor its like a really bit band saw blade.

Iv been beating on metal for a while and have goten enterested in making knives. I was given a bundel of A2 rods about 3/8 i know i can make a number of small tools from it but i was thinking of trying to forge weld it into a knife billet just dont know if it would be a wast of time having never delt with it. My thought on the billet was to make a 4 by 4 billet of rods alternating a difrent type rod through out it so no A2 rods would be directly conected tack the ends and twist it like a large cable. If it can be done what would be recomended for my alternate rods. If it cant be done there all going to be destend to become small tools and such.
