about a month or so ago i found 80' of 1" L angle.8eight 10' pieces in a dumpster on one of our jobsites at work.turned it into my 3' x 5' forge.ill post pix when im done.:D

wel to make it short and sweet i was askin my bro's what to call it..kev looks at me and goes just call it metal wackers...the name stuck lol..metal wackers forge.

hello all its been awhile since i posted...i do flat glasswork for a living and case is right...silicone is your best bet.holds great and sets up fast.cheapest you'll find out there too.just my 2 cents..hava great time.

Ever since I was a little kid being thrilled by my dads stories of how thebladesmiths of old perfected their craft and watching him work metal in one form or the other I've been interested but the bug didn't really bite till about two years ago matter of fact dad bought me my first anvil .made a brake drum forge and off I went.now I'm involved w the blacksmith guild of va.a better bunch of people I don't think I could find.though I haven't had the honor and joy of attending any of our hammerins yet but I'm close.

I received this book as a gift and I am rather impressed.its a good all around book as has been said for the beginner to intermediate though I think it would be better with a tong tutorial but that's what ifi is for lol.

Iwas thinking that with the proper eye placement one could make a small straight/cross peen with a spike.I'm in the middle of making a tack hammer out of one .its going good so far.also thinking of a dishing hammer with the spike head as the hammer face as it is already rounded. Will post pics when I can.

I've got a 55 lb and I can't complain to much.its served me well exept the horns way to blunt.

Thanks I haven't been a member but I've been looknn around and this is definatly one of the best I've seen.good ideas and great people.I'm in hampton va.not to many blacksmiths.I think I'm the only one.
