Can anyone tell me what these chisel are called and or what purpose they were intended for ? Ive seen several before these were given to me with some tongs and nippers.

  2. Started by Makoz,

Hi there, Just thought some of you may be interested in a chisel I made a while back, which I took photos of and posted a WIP on a woodwork forum. Its nothing special, and I'm not a real blacksmith so I've probably made some errors the more experienced here might like to correct! Link here: Forging a chisel - Woodwork Forums Regards, Makoz

  3. Started by Sam Salvati,

I have this pexto wood chisel, the tip needs to be reworked, as it now has a double bevel instead of the single. Also the tip on the corners was overheated and the colors ran. Should I re heat treat and re shape the whole thing? Or just gind slowly back until the back is flat and then re do the whole edge without running the colors? Thank you.
