Firstly how they compare to steel knives in terms of duribility edge retention weigt and balance. And secondly if the manerfactures put any metal in the handly for security purposes? triw Posted March 3, 2009 Share Posted March 3, 2009 I saw a show on them on the discovery channel and according to them the knives hald a great edge but are brittle, you can break one by dropping it. Pault17 Posted March 5, 2009 Share Posted March 5, 2009 on a slight side-step; many of the airport security entries are now using body scanners that, according to a friend who is very familiar with airport security functions, will pick up even a fiberglass shank.
