FieryFurnace
A friend of mine wants some small throwers. I would like to know if leaf spring would be ok and a sugested tempering method. Thought??? Thanks!!! Dave
JerryCarroll
I've made bunches of throwers--large and small from leaf spring and haven't bothered tempering because of the possibility of a broken piece going off in a wrong direction. I've had to straighten a couple but none have broken and all have performed well as throwers--not whittlers. Good luck.
tinbender
Same here exept we had alot of mild steel and not much spring so we messed around with the mild until satisfied with a design and used it for a pattern. The mild held up really well for throwers but the tips kept bending on some throwing stars another fellow made.
