CRAFTBENDER
I was invited over to BirdogForge a while back to witness some hot work. Bruce Godlesky is the owner and he also had a young fellow there, Andy Takach, both expert forgers and knife makers. I was mainly interested in the forging of the steel cable. Andy's grandfather was also there to observe. I had a great time and am inspired to build my own forge. I already have the plans. I have been a fabricator/welder for over 40 years but maybe an old dog can learn new tricks. Thanks to Bruce and Andy!
Dodge
Welcome to the forum, CB. As a former welder/fabricator, I know where you're coming from. Easy to get hooked on this for sure . Be sure to ask lots of questions! Even if they seem stupid..Well, you know the words!! ;)
Oak Hill Forge
I just picked up some work I had a friend do with his CNC Plasma machine on Sunday. He cut out my firepot for my table style forge I'm building from 1/2" stock. What a nice toy !!!! I want one for Christmas !
Frosty
I see our nefarious plot has snared another addict. Bwooo ha ha ha ha! As a fabricator you'll find that making your equipment is pretty straight forward and kind of refreshing as you can just eyeball a lot of it. However, seeing as you build such sweet scale models I hope to see some working scale smithing equipment. Frosty

brucegodlesky
Riley is quite the metalworker in his own right! :-) He is already working on his first knife and we see a tomahawk in the future. The sharing of ideas and concepts is what makes these endeavors so worthwhile. Thanks Riley! bruce/birdog Edited February 25, 2009 by brucegodlesky
