February 19, 200917 yr Can anyone tell me where I can get an Anvil. I'm just getting started. Eddie Herrington Flowood, MS 601-720-3966
February 20, 200917 yr well, some scrap yards have rail road track, some junk yards may have an anvil, tool shops usually have 50lbers for cheap but they arent amazing anvils... just look up places like that in your area, look for auctions, estate sales. that was my starting place
February 20, 200917 yr Check out the MS Farm Bulletin, and one member of our club put a posting on Craigslist that he was looking for blacksmithing tools and got a great deal from someone that called.
February 20, 200917 yr I second the Craigslist suggestion- I put up a post looking for an anvil and tools, and they came to ME! It took a few weeks, though- so be patient. A lot of people have this 'stuff' laying around in barn and sheds, and it's just in the way to them. Many don't know that it has value, other than as scrap steel. It's a shame how much of it must get melted down... -Andrew
