furby
I am going to make a replacement Knife/ Cutter Blade for by wood chipper, the ones you put small branches in. (The chipper is an older WW Grinder with a 5 HP Briggs engine).. I rebuilt the whole unit, now I need blades... might as well make several while I am at it Question-- what grade of steel would be the best to use?? Of course it-- sees shock loads, needs to hold an edge.... Thanks.
Rich Hale
Unless you are really experienced with blades and heat treat I would suggest you only use store bought blades designed for that machine.
Steve Sells
"A" series is hard to heat treat and "S" series is just as hard to work, both types can fall apart at those RPM's if the metal isn't done correctly. You can have catastrophic failure, resulting in a very big mess. at least.:o
