I get regular email notifications from IRS Auctions. The IRS is 'Industrial Recovery Services'...not Internal Revenue Service. Anyways, they take all the crap from closing plants/factories, and put it into lots. It takes some time to sift through all their stuff, but they do get some great deals. I'll post a link when I find it.

My last post vise came off the local craigslist, I've seen anvils and a power hammer listed there before too!

I frequently look at craigslist. Not satisfied with my state, I've also browsed others. I think I've done about 30 of the states so far. Things are a little dry right now, but i've found a few items. I try to let people who live near the items on this forum know when I see something.

I've found craigslist out west to be hit or miss. It's hard to find blacksmithing tools, and when they are posted they are usually pretty spendy. Now normal tools on the other hand, can be found pretty easy on craigslist. I got my horizontal band saw and welder offa craig's. It was a great deal on the bandsaw too.
