August 22, 2025Aug 22 Thanks John, I don't know what I like best. I love the little heads on the candelabra and aggressive dragons. The piercing on the muzzles are pleasing on many levels. I just don't know about a horse that needs a muzzle though. The dragons over the lintel are cool but the photos need zoomed in and better lighting. I'll probably spend a while on each piece, there is some tasty detail to loosen the imagination. Good stuff, I like it. Frosty The Lucky.
December 13, 2025Dec 13 Author On an amusing tangent, I was visiting an art collector (in my professional capacity, about some possible donations to our museum), who told me an amusing story about Mrs. Gardner. She was a passionate collector of Renaissance paintings, and her agent in Italy had located one that she really wanted. Although it was a perfectly legal sale, the Italian government was opposed to it leaving the country, so he shipped it to her in Boston under a false bottom in a crate full of teddy bears!
