Curumo
Hi, I'm Curumo(assistant to Aule, creator of the dwarves of Middle Earth) and I know almost nothing about forging. I am here so that I can, maybe learn how to ACTUALLY DO SOME FORGING WITH A REAL FORGE!!!!! The closest that I've been to actually doing any kind of metal-working was heating-red-hot a piece of metal rake handle, then smashing it flat with a hammer, using a rail-road plate(discarded) as an anvil.HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
Scratch
Hi, and welcome, from not so sunny Eastern Wisconsin. I can see Minnesota from my window and although I did see some sun yesterday... I noticed you didn't say "sunny and warm Minnesota" ... good call. Welcome to the site.:D
ironrosefarms
From the humble beginnings beating a hot rake tine... Oh what a story that could be! IFI has a ton of information and helpful folks. Go get a sandwich, some snacks and a tall cold beverage and head to the home page. Look at all the things there in the 'Getting Started' and 'Lessons in Metalworking' sections... See ya around James
nealj
Nice to see another Minnesotan. Hope your part of the state was sunnier than ours this weekend. We woke to snow and wind Sun. morning and ended up with 4-5" of snow. Have fun with all the great info here. Curumo
I like ironrosefarms's tagline (amen) and to nealj, I gotta say that it was snowing here too, it just melted before it hit the ground, which if sad, 'cause, I like snow
