I Forge Iron

my first laminated steel

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'd like to share with you my first experience in making a laminated steel. I'm particularly happy because in the middle of the process, I though I missed the welding process.

First welding not very good:

But I decided to continue the process after removing the parts with poor welds.

You've got the eye! Yes, I'm starting to use a press that I've almost finished building. There's still some work to be done on the hydraulic control. But it's usable. I'm still combining a lot with the hammer because I'm discovering this tool.

I'm thinking of making a blade for a folding knife. I don't have much steel in this billet.
