Jacob s
someone told me once that it was possible to form bronze in a forge, is that true? how would it be done?
inazuma_x
what do you mean by form? you can melt it most definitely...in a crucible then pour it into a mold...you can also work it as with iron (even though the temps would be lower for bronze)... do you mean this kinda stuff? or actually making your own bronze by mixing copper and tin? which can also be done... ThomasPowers
*Some* alloys of bronze are hot forgable; but the working temp is generally just barely glowing in a completely dark room. Most alloys of bronze are not forgable. A true Gunmetal Bronze and Silicon Bronze are both alloys that can be forged. With scrap you have to try it and see and not invest in a lot of it until you have tested it and even then each piece may be different even if they look essentially the same.
