Cain Creek Forge
Looking at this Trenton 130 pound anvil. He said it has a really good ping sound to it, and I will perform a ball bearing rebound test. Does anyone know anything about trenton anvils. He said he thinks it is forged and from the little I looked up about it hs is right. This will be my first anvil. They are asking $600. And it is a 130 lb. Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
It looks to be in great shape and depending upon where in the world it and you are located $4.60 U.S. per pound is not outrageous in today's market. In my area that is a little high though. If you decide to get it, I hope you have read about not doing any grinding, milling or welding on the hardened steel face. There are many threads about the Trenton anvil. This is a pretty good one. https://www.iforgeiron.com/topic/50770-trenton-history/
ThomasPowers
Trentons are a good brand, check on the front of the foot under the horn for a weight and a serial number. Price is Good, OK or Bad depending on WHERE in the WORLD you are at---are those Canadian dollars, Australian dollars, Singapore Dollars, US Dollars? World Wide Web! Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
We won't remember your location once leaving this post, hence the suggestion to add it in your profile. The early Trenton's were made in Europe (Germany) later were made in the USA Columbus Ohio if I recall properly.
