July 16, 200818 yr Hi All i just wanted to say hi to u all i have been recomended to visit and join this forum to pick the brains of some friendly experts the reason for joining these forums is that im undertaking building of a gas forge to make a sword complete with leather craft and forged bronze work and some engraving so a lot to do over the next 2 years or so so any advice or ideas will be appreciated kindest regards Graham ps i was pointed in this direction form some guys over at back yard metalcasting.com

As a newbie I'm thinking the best thing that can be done is to read the forum a bit, and then get with some local Blacksmiths or your local/state Blacksmith association. Get with real folks somewhere close to your area and learn a bit. Then you can have a better idea about what you need from a skills standpoint. I can't say enough about getting with the local guys. Real people and hands on application is where to start.
