tabriz
Hello, Which of these would be considered the best anvil maker? Thanks Lee
blksmth
Lee, they are probably all about the same in hardness, toughness, and rebound.
Glenn
Sounds like a Ford vs Chevy, or a pick up vs car discussion. Best for what?
ChrisB
Don't forget to consider shipping cost into the deal. For me being able to drive to a Blacksmith meet and pickup a Euroanvil was a deal clincher.
Don A
Same here with the Euro. No complaints from me.
Quenchcrack
I have an Old World Anvil and have no complaints about it. I have used it for 5 years now and the surface is barely marked. I also paid about $60 to have is shipped to me from Arkansas to Longview, TX. I recently bought a TFS anvil from a farrier supply in my town and I paid NOTHING for shipping. I picked it up at their shop and saved a lot. Note: I shouldn't say I paid nothing for shipping. At $5.50 per lb, I am sure the cost of shipping was in there somewhere! ChrisB
Shipping companies have wasted no time in hiking up shipping rates to match the $4 gasoline. I shelled out $225 to move an item 450 miles. And Conway was nice enough to try their best to destroy it too.
