civilwarblacksmith
Hey all, I picked up a 14' Shopcraft Bandsaw that is in need of new rubber "shoe"(?) belts that go around the pulleys that the blade rests on. Anyone know where I can find these and if this is even the right term for it? I did find the drive belt at McMaster-Carr.
BT
Stretch on Rubber Tires is one source. Check over at owwm.com, they have a lot of info on replacing band saw tires and sources.

irnsrgn
most woodworking places have them, they are called TIRES, try woodcraft, Rockler, and Lee Valley tools.Urethane Bandsaw Tires - Woodcraft.comUrethane Band Saw Tires - Rockler Woodworking ToolsUrethane Bandsaw Tires - Lee Valley Tools You will have to put the urethane ones in boiling water to be able to stretch them on, but they need no glue to hold them in place. arftist
You can also make you own band saw tires from the right size truck inner tube with a pair of scissors or a sharp knife.

Brian C.
Another material to use for tires is a good heavy felt, if you have access to some. My old Delta saw has this glued on over the old worn out originals. It was probably 1/4 or 3/8" thick originally. It has been on there as long as I can remember (it was in Dad's shop for years before I got it).
civilwarblacksmith
That's an Idea. I still haven'tfound shoes for 6 " pulleys wheels. You can buy them cut them and glue them. But to find ones that fit, haven't seen them yet.
