Grim
Hey everyone. I'm not all that familiar with metalwork. I'm a distiller that specializes in rare and forgotten spirits, liqueurs and traditional cordials... but the dearth of modern information on 18th & 19th century still-manufacture has me prowling new places. I'll try my very best not to get in the way. Thanks!
Ted T
Grim, Welcome to I Forge Iron! This is a good place to learn that at least Blacksmithing is not dead. In fact, just the oppisite is true, it is alive and doing very well thanks to people like you find here at I Forge Iron. There is so much to learn, and so little time to take it all in. I hope you enjoy the site and that it gives you what you are looking for! Ted
ThomasPowers
Grim; have you looked through the *complete* Diderot's Encyclopedia for such information? That would be my first stop for late 18th century manufacturing. Probably have to visit a university library as most places just have the abridged version that DOVER published. Grim
Not the complete edition. I've reviewed sections of Diderot's Encyclod
