markh
Has anyone tried these anvils? The salesman I talked to said that the aluminum base nearly eliminated the ring and gave great rebound. Here's a link: Anvils And Stands
Rich Hale
I have used one and seen several of them used. Good is that you get the face size of a heavier anvil with out the weight. Bad is that you do not get the expra weight
Alan B
I don't know anything about these but I would worry about doing anything heavy on aluminum. Just my opinion.
Mende
All the aluminum anvils they sell seem 2 be a bit small . . .Do you need a demo anvil you can carry around or s hop anvil?. . .if you want the latter . .get a steel anvil and some ear muffs. . . nett
Those anvils have over half again as much face area compared to regular anvil of comparable weight. Interesting. I wonder if they use some sophisticated engineered alloy aluminum like aluminum baseball bats use, and if they did, I'd like to know more about it's characteristics that contribute to making a good anvil. I would not discount these anvils until I learned more about them.
