northwoodsdave
I just wanted to introduce myself. I have some experience in forging, mostly using oxyacetylene. I moved up to Northern Wisconsin about three years ago, and now have a workshop that once housed a forge. The chimney is mostly intact (it needs a new cap) but the forge itself is long gone, donated to a local museum. Some of the tools are there though. No anvil, but you can't have everything. I hope to get working on a new forge setup this summer. I'm basically a newbie to actual forging, but have at least welded and heat-treated metal in the past. This site is a great source of information, so I probably will be asking LOTS of questions! Dave

Glenn
Go to the opening page IForgeIron.com > Lessons in Metalworking > Blacksmithing. This should give you some ideas.
