April 14, 200818 yr I sold a trenton last mo. Weight is probably 150lb. # on the left front corner is weight. Mine went for $325
April 14, 200818 yr What they said. However the price seems a bit high to me if it's only 120# I would want a substantial reduction as MO is not in an anvil poor region. That seems a West Coast price on it. Blame E-Bay!
April 14, 200818 yr Author thanks for all of your help everyone how much do you think the anvil is worth
April 14, 200818 yr To me very little; to you: ????? I would expect US$2 a pound to be a decent price with US$3 a pound to be ok if you really needed it *and* it tests out as being in good condition, (hasn't been softened in a fire or has delamination issues) US$1 a pound is a "bragging price" As you can tell you *really* need to know the real weight of it and remember as a US made anvil it is NOT marked with the CWT system but in pounds!
April 15, 200818 yr Tetnum, it is a Trenton anvil , they are very good anvils . I use a 200 lb Trenton as one of my shop anvils . At 400 dollars , it is not a steal , however if you have been searching for an anvil for years what is 400 dollars in the cosmos ? Get it if you want it . Good luck , Forgeman
April 20, 200818 yr I got a trenton(so Im told) that isnt in nearly as nice shape I love it, it wieghs 172#, although I paid $40 for it off craigslist.
