March 7, 20188 yr I’m building a gas forge and was wondering if anyone had ever insulated theirs with roxul afb?
March 7, 20188 yr Can't seem to find a temperature rating for it so most likely NOT a refractory item.
March 7, 20188 yr Roxul lists its melting point at 2150F. But it also has a limited time for effective fire barrier use in residential firewall applications. I doubt it'll hold up to direct flame contact for very long, even if you don't accidentally melt the stuff.
March 8, 20188 yr Check out the Build a Gas Forge attachment on my web site. This will give you information you need to build a tough, efficient, long lasting forge. Let me know if I can help you. You can find my url and contact information on my Profiles page. I prefer e-mails. Wayne
