ThomasPowers Posted February 1, 2018 Share Posted February 1, 2018 I was looking through my Sears Roebuck 1905 catalog reprint and saw that they carried 5 different screw/screwbox replacements for vices from 35 pounds to 130 pounds and prices from US$2.90 to $5.45 and yes a replacement screw/screwbox and generally cost over 1/2 of buying a new vise of the size they were rated for. examples: 40 pound vise: $3.39, replacement screw/screwbox $2.90 130 pound vise $8.95 replacement screw/screwbox $5.45 Can't get much more common than that back in the day!
