knots
Is it possible to convert my Oxygen/Acetylene "Gassaver" to Oxygen/Propane ?
ede
I have the miller oxy/acetylene and also the miller oxy/propane gas saver. The gas cup orifice looks different on both, other than that I'm not sure of the difference.
Al Stephens
Knots, I switched over about 10 years ago. The only difference I saw was the pilot flame was not as strong. Blows out in a breeze coming through the shop. Al
WayneCoeArtistBlacksmith
Years ago I got the conversion for from ace to Propane. It did not work very well so I got a gas saver designed for Propane and it was the difference between night and day. I still had a problem with the pilot blowing out so I attached an air shield that I turn to be between the breeze and the pilot. Works like a charm. Occasionally the pilot would still blow out. Now thinking about this I think that I will make a shield about half of a round about 6" wide and see how it works. Wayne
